Updated Fall 2019
Welcome to my studio! As we begin to work together, please read and discuss my studio policies below. They are meant to serve as guidelines for your progress, as well as a request to respect my time and my family.
Please discuss any issues or concerns as they arise so we can work them out together.
Private lessons incorporate individual instruction on repertoire, technique, theory, sight reading, ear training and musicianship. Lessons are taught using methods that are the most effective for each student’s learning style, interests, and goals.
Regular practice at home reinforces techniques covered in the lesson, and is imperative to improvement. In fact, most of the progress you make will happen at your own piano! Practice goals will be discussed with each individual student. Young students must keep a practice schedule with the help of a parent or other adult.
With your commitment to regular weekly lessons, your tuition now includes:
*Notebooks, Lesson, technique, and theory books
*Photocopies of music, games, and supplies
*Extra programs, workshops, ensembles, piano parties
The cost of all extra supplementary books will be the responsibility of the student.
No invoices will be given, unless you request a receipt for your payment.
Tuition may be paid up front at the beginning of the semester, or in 4 equal installments at the first lesson of the first 4 months.
New students are welcome at any point in the semester. Tuition will be prorated from the point of their second lesson. The first introductory lesson is always free!
No refunds or credits will be made for missed lessons.
As always, I never want a student to miss out on lessons due to a strain on the family budget. Please consider discussing tuition cost with me if this rate would keep you from pursuing lessons.
Make-up lessons are not guaranteed, but may be offered if there is an opening, or during School Vacations and Holidays. In the event that I need to cancel a lesson, I will do everything I can to make up that lesson within the semester.
