A Casa Piano Studio of Stephanie Castor
When I was very young, I first discovered my love for music as I explored the keys on my little red keyboard. I began formal piano instruction at the age of 8 and after several years of classical training, I began expanding my repertoire to include other styles of music in my teen years. Under the instruction of Maura Glennon and George Loring, I earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Keene State College in 2009.
I have been teaching in the Keene area for over ten years, and opened my own studio in the Spring of 2009. In addition to private teaching, I am also a member of the Music Faculty at Keene State College. From 2013 to 2015 I acted as a staff accompanist, and currently I teach Secondary Piano, Functional Piano III and Functional Piano IV. On Sundays I enjoy playing piano for First Church of Christ, Scientist in Peterborough, NH. Professional associations include Music Teacher's National Association (MTNA), New Hampshire Music Teacher's Association (NHMTA) and New England Piano Teacher's Association (NEPTA)
I am delighted to have such a diverse group of students in my studio. From introducing young children to the world of music, to helping adults gain new skills or reconnect with their passion, I truly share every victory with my students of all ages. I am always excited to welcome new students, and I am looking forward to watching my current students grow as musicians!
I believe that anyone who loves music has the ability to learn the art of playing the piano. Though I have a strong background in classical pedagogy,
I truly believe there is no wrong way to learn. I will use any teaching method or tool that is successful in helping students of any age achieve their goals.
